This Changes & Cancellation Policy explains how voluntary and involuntary changes or cancellations are handled for bookings made through My Flights Portal, Inc. (“My Flights Portal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

1. Our Role as an OTA (Important Disclosure)

My Flights Portal is an independent, self-operated Online Travel Agency (OTA) and an ARC-accredited agency (ARC No. 33760075).

We act solely as a booking intermediary between the traveler and the airline.

  • Airlines exclusively control fares, schedules, ticket rules, penalties, and refund eligibility
  • My Flights Portal does not set or override airline rules
  • All changes and cancellations are governed by the fare rules of the operating airline

2. Voluntary Changes (Customer-Initiated)

A voluntary change occurs when a customer requests a modification after ticket issuance, including but not limited to:

  • Date or time changes
  • Route changes
  • Cabin class changes
  • Name corrections (where permitted by airline policy)

Key Conditions:

  • Change eligibility depends entirely on the airline fare purchased
  • Many discounted or promotional fares are restricted or non-changeable
  • Airline change penalties, fare differences, and taxes may apply

Agency Fees:

  • My Flights Portal may charge a post-ticketing service fee for processing changes
  • Agency service fees are non-refundable, except where required by law
  • All applicable fees are disclosed before processing any request

3. Voluntary Cancellations (Customer-Initiated)

A voluntary cancellation occurs when a customer chooses not to travel.

Important Disclosures:

  • Refund eligibility is determined solely by airline fare rules
  • Many fares are non-refundable
  • Some airlines may offer future travel credits instead of refunds
  • My Flights Portal can assist with cancellation requests but cannot guarantee airline approval.

4. 24-Hour Rule (U.S. DOT – Where Applicable)

In accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations:

For flights to or from the United States, customers may be eligible for a 24-hour cancellation or void, provided:

  • The booking was made at least 7 days before departure, and
  • The airline’s fare rules permit voiding or refund

Important:

  • This rule applies to airline fares only
  • Agency service fees are excluded, unless legally required to be refunded

5. Involuntary Changes or Cancellations (Airline-Initiated)

An involuntary change or cancellation may occur due to:

  • Airline schedule changes
  • Flight cancellations
  • Aircraft substitutions
  • Operational disruptions

In such cases:

  • Refunds, rebooking, or credits are governed by airline policy
  • My Flights Portal assists with submitting requests and communication
  • Final decisions rest entirely with the airline

6. Change or Cancellation Processing Time

  • Requests are processed only after verification and fare-rule review
  • Airline responses and processing timelines vary
  • Refunds or credits may take one or more billing cycles depending on airline and payment method

My Flights Portal cannot expedite airline-controlled timelines.

7. Name Changes & Corrections

  • Most airlines do not permit name changes after ticket issuance
  • Minor corrections may be allowed at airline discretion
  • Significant name changes usually require ticket cancellation and rebooking

Verification may be required for security and fraud-prevention purposes.

8. Fraud Prevention & Verification

For security and compliance, My Flights Portal may:

  • Verify passenger and payment details
  • Request confirmation where payer and passenger names differ
  • Decline processing if verification is not completed

Failure to complete verification may result in cancellation without further processing.

9. No Guarantee Disclaimer

My Flights Portal does not guarantee:

  • Approval of changes or cancellations
  • Refund eligibility
  • Waiver of airline penalties or fare differences

All outcomes depend on airline rules and availability.

10. Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for:

  • Reviewing fare rules before booking
  • Understanding change and cancellation restrictions
  • Responding promptly to verification requests

Booking confirmation constitutes acceptance of this Policy.

11. Limitation of Liability

My Flights Portal shall not be liable for:

  • Airline denial of changes or refunds
  • Schedule changes or cancellations controlled by airlines
  • Losses arising from fare restrictions

Our role is limited to facilitation and support as permitted by law and airline policy.
